Other Greek catholic churches
A common feature of all Greek Catholic Eastern churches is that they celebrate their liturgy in the Byzantine rite. As this is the rite also used by the Orthodox Greeks, they were called “Greek Catholic” by the officials of the Habsburg monarchy in order to distinguish them from the Roman Catholics, who celebrate their liturgy in the Latin rite.
