Two keynote addresses will be presented at the end of the first day of the conference "Arriving at a Common Narrative: The 'Lviv Sobor' of 1946 and its Aftermath to the Present", and are open to the public.
Bishop Borys GUDZIAK, Head of the Department of External Church Relations for the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church and President of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, and Vladislav PETRUSHKO, official representative of the Russian Orthodox Church – Moscow Patriarchate, will present lectures in English on the conference topic of the "Lviv Sobor". Their lectures will present the history of the "Lviv Sobor"
within the broader context of attempts at restoring union between the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, and suggest ways toward reconciliation and unity in today’s ecclesial context.
